No Wonder...
It's no wonder my house smells like dirty fucking diapers all the time. For the life of me I don't understand why Sarah can't figure out how to use the diaper genie. I know it is not the most pleasant thing to put your hand in the damn thing in order to put the diaper in, but really, if you don't it STINKS!
I know I am cranky today from not enough sleep and was cranky yesterday from going to work. And from now on I'm going to take it out on Sarah. Today I told her all the crap that was wrong yesterday when I got home. I just don't care anymore. She can quit if she wants...it is not like I am making the money to pay her. I just filed our state employment taxes for 2007 today. Of course they are paid quarterly so we owe penalties too. I have no idea if I did them correctly. I don't really care today. So between paying her state and federal taxes, we are just not sure if we should keep her on. Maybe she will quit if I am mean enough. We all know I can be mean enough.

A week in New York
For Uncle Paul's graduation (on a Wednesday) from the fire academy and Poppa's 50th birthday, we went to New York. For a week! So Tom worked and I watched the babies. Tom went to Aunt Sue's to work/attend a class and I stayed at Grandma B's with the kiddos. It was a loooonnng week. Jake learned "no no no" with a finger wag. Cute but ultimately fruitless as he now does something he knows is wrong and then tells us "no no no".
In the end , it was a great week and I'm glad we did it, but it was so tiring.

Birthday Time!
Grandma and Grandpa Eison and Uncle Matt were here to celebrate. I think pictures do more justice than my words ever could:

Notice my lovely homemade cakes? Me neither. On their birthday I thought I'd make them cakes. We sent Grandma to the store and she came home with cakes instead of cake mix. In the long run it was better, but still, you know me.
So, to wax nostalgic, I can't believe that they went from this:

in one year. It is amazing. I love you my babies, Happy Birthday.

Christmas
Hello from the slacker mom capital (i.e. my house). You'd think I would find time to write about something as important as BABY'S FIRST CHRISTMAS. Well, we've officially passed Valentine's Day and I'm just now getting to it. So you know that means I've forgotten most of it. Luckily, there is video so we can live it over and over again.
After the playdate, we went over to Uncle Dave and Aunt Laura's house to meet Chloe. She is so small. Both Tom and I have already forgotten how to hold a little baby. She is so sweet and cute that I can hardly stand it. Later that night we had a "big" cousins playdate. Everyone was already home (except Sam's Matt who arrived the next day) and we had a great time at Dave & Buster's.

Spoiler alert: You can't tell from this picture, and we didn't know it at the time but GILLIAN IS PREGNANT. More on this later.
So, on to Christmas Eve at Uncle Dominic's house. It was great. There were a bazillion people there. The kiddos looked soooo cute in their Christmas outfits. They sat and ate like big kids. In the picture below, Sophie is eating broccoli with lemon. She loved it, but made this face with every bite!

The present madness that had started at home (where Grandma Eison had sent Christmas presents and Bubbe sent Chanukah presents) continued at Uncle Dom's. Oye! These kids are S-P-O-I-L-E-D.
Christmas Day was great but not really what I expected. We celebrated at Grandma B's because that is where we stayed. So no one really arrived until noonish. And there was no Christmas tree at Grandma B's. But there were piles and piles of presents. I really don't think I will ever have to buy clothes for these children.

The gift melee was followed by Christmas dinner with the whole clan at Aunt Sue's house. Again, all I can say is CUTE (oh, and SPOILED, more presents at Aunt Sue's).

We went to New York for Christmas. Tom and I had decided we were going to stay home for the holiday. Yeah right. I got all weepy about being "alone" and insisted that we go to New York. The best part of the trip was the Baby Cousins Playdate. It was so much fun. From left to right - Sophia, Brooke, Caitlyn, Jake, Andrew & Hailey. Adelina and Joey not pictured!

Bad Day(s)
I had a bad weekend. It was like PMS-on-Crack.
Everything started out fine, better than fine. Saturday morning I had coffee with neighbor and mommy-to-be, Kimberly. It was such a great 2-hour break. Then when I got home, my mood just went in the shitter. I think part of it was that Tom had plugged in his brand new XBox upstairs. When he started playing it (thereby leaving me no TV on the main floor) I just kind of lost it. Especially when I said "I'm going upstairs for a minute," and he said "OK," and when I came back down he was playing and both kiddos were screaming for him from the playpen and he was oblivious. I just spiraled into a "I cannot be around you mood", so I just ignored him the best I could.
Sunday things turned bad again when we went to have a family picture taken. Just as we arrived, Santa was going to feed his reindeer. So we had an hour and half to kill...KILL being the operative word. Both of us were so pissed we ended up just leaving. Maybe we will try again this week.
My bad mood seems to have lifted. Tom hung the pictures we took in October, so that was a little point for him. Today I met up with another mom - Nicole, mother to Addison. We have the exact same birthday. Cool, eh? We are going to get the kids together again after the holidays. So hopefully a new friend there.
We are leaving Saturday morning for New York. I am woefully unprepared. I have not made ANY lists yet!!!! How will anything get packed? I am excited to be spending the holiday with family, but am sad that we won't be seeing my side until after the New Year. Ah, well, next year in Florida!
